The stretch of Madison Street that runs through Madison Valley is somewhat of a hidden gem of a shopping district. While many may see it as simply a thoroughfare leading to Madison Park, it’s actually home to a great mix of retail shops and restaurants, and is an excellent place for local holiday shopping. This Tuesday, December 2, selected merchants will be participating in a Holiday Happy Hour event, staying open until 8:00 p.m. and offering holiday sales and specials. Restaurants including Cafe Flora, The Bottleneck Lounge, Luc, Seattle Salads, and more will be mixing holiday cocktails and/or serving food from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Click here for a list of participating merchants!

Spend an afternoon in Paris, or at least pretend to, at the Paris a Midi event at Luc in Madison Valley this Saturday, August 16. “Midi” means midday in French, and as such this fundraiser for the Bo M. Karlsson Foundation will feature a midday French-inspired three-course meal. All proceeds will go toward the foundation’s scholarship fund for young Nepalese women looking to continue their educations in fields such as public health and civil engineering.

The suggested donation for the event is $75, which not only includes the three-course meal, but a complimentary glass of wine and the afternoon’s live entertainment from singer Anna Witte and accordionist Bonnie Birch. There will also be a slideshow, and a silent auction featuring items from Nepal and gift certificates to local businesses.

The event starts at noon and runs until 3:00 p.m., and you can purchase tickets here. Restaurant Luc is located at 2800 E Madison St.
