Madison Park was named that way for its small lakeside park at the northeastern edge of the neighborhood, and this community as well as the joint Madison Valley neighborhood holds some beautiful parks and green spaces. Additionally, the area is home to some good Seattle schools (preschool and elementary), libraries, and learning centers.
The parks in the area include the renowned Washington Park Arboretum and its greenhouse and Japanese Garden highlights. Volunteer Park and the conservatory there are also nearby, offering plenty of spaces more inland to enjoy the outdoors in Seattle. All along Lake Washington from Madison Park to Leschi, the Central District features plenty of lakeside parks, playgrounds, and green spaces.
